This short film, crafted entirely out of National Film Board archival footage by Canadian First Nations filmmaker Caroline Monnet, takes us on an exhilarating journey from the Far North to the urban south, capturing the perpetual negotiation between the traditional and the modern by a people moving ever forward.

(b.1985, Canada)

Caroline Monnet is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montréal. She studied Sociology and Communication at the University of Ottawa (CAN) and the University of Granada (SP) before pursuing a career in visual arts and film. Her short films have screened at numerous festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and Les Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin/Madrid. She is currently developing her first feature film, selected for the Festival de Cannes Cinéfondation residency in Paris. Recent exhibitions include AXENÉO7 (Gatineau), Arsenal (NY) and the Walter Phillips Gallery (Banff).
