I am an architect, urban planner, researcher, and photographer whose work explores the intersections between architecture, photography, visual culture, and archives. My research focuses on how photographic images shape the understanding, documentation, and memory of the built environment. I am currently a PhD Candidate at FAUP/CEAU (University of Porto), funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), and a PhD Careers Ambassador at the University of Porto. My doctoral research, “ANTÓNIO MENÉRES: Paths of Portuguese and Brazilian Architecture in Photography,” investigates the architect-photographer António Menéres and one of his unpublished photographic collections through iconographic, iconological, and affective readings of images across Portugal and Brazil. I recently contributed to the aRTes – Active Rooftops South Europe project at the SURF Lab (University of Cyprus), focused on urban rooftops as active, sustainable, and socially engaged spaces. Before moving to Europe, I taught Architecture, Urban Planning, and Civil Engineering in Brazil (2016–2020), supervising undergraduate research and final projects. My academic background at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) has long engaged with modern heritage, photographic archives, and urban studies. In 2016, I defended the master’s dissertation “Arquitetura, Contrastes e Escalas: o surgimento da capital moderna brasileira pelas lentes de Geraldo Vieira”, a pioneering study on the private photographic archive of Geraldo Vieira (1911–1993), focusing on unpublished photographs of Brasília from the first mass to the inauguration of the capital. The research also unfolded into the curatorial project “Geraldo Vieira | Retratos de uma Capital”, developed alongside Prof. Dr. Marco Antônio Pasqualini de Andrade. After years dedicated to teaching and archival research, photography became more than a method: it became my language. Photographing cities — through travel or everyday life — is central to how I observe, think, and express the world. I collaborate with the T2P – Theory and Design Practices group (CEAU | FAUP) and I am an associate member of Women in Architecture (Portugal).
