EligibilityThe Advanced Research Seminar is open to doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, scholars, artists engaged in research-led or practice-based inquiry, educators, and cultural practitioners whose work intersects with photography, archives, visual culture, and related fields. Its interdisciplinary framework welcomes participants working across photography, visual and media studies, art history and theory, cultural studies, and related disciplines.Applicants are expected to enter the programme with an existing research question or project that can be developed throughout the seminar. Projects do not need to address every aspect of the programme theme but should demonstrate a meaningful engagement with its broader critical concerns.The seminar is open to participants worldwide and there are no geographical restrictions. Participation RequirementsApplicants must demonstrate a high level of written and spoken English. All sessions, readings, presentations, and discussions will be conducted in English.Applicants should be actively engaged in a research or practice-based project relevant to the seminar’s thematic focus.Participants are responsible for ensuring they have access to a computer with a stable internet connection, an operating system compatible with Zoom, and functioning audio, video, and screen-sharing capabilities. ARCHIVO cannot be held responsible for technical issues arising from participants’ equipment or internet connectivity.Participants are expected to attend all scheduled sessions and engage actively in discussions, peer feedback, and the assigned readings.Participants should be prepared to present their project during the programme and contribute constructively to the collective development of other participants’ work.In addition to the scheduled sessions, participants should allow sufficient time for independent reading and research throughout the duration of the seminar.At the end of the programme, participants will be invited to complete an evaluation reflecting on their overall experience, level of satisfaction, and the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the seminar. This feedback will help us assess the programme’s impact and inform the ongoing development and improvement of future editions.

Successful applicants will be invited to confirm their participation by completing the registration process and paying the applicable programme fee by the deadline indicated in their acceptance letter.Participants whose fees are funded by a university, research institution, or another organisation may request an invoice issued directly to the funding body. Payment instructions and invoicing details will be provided upon acceptance.Unless otherwise agreed in writing, late payments will incur a 10% monthly administrative charge on the outstanding balance.What the Programme Includes:Participation in all scheduled online seminar sessions.Access to the programme’s digital learning materials and assigned readings.Individual and peer feedback throughout the programme.A Certificate of Participation, subject to fulfilling the attendance and participation requirements.Withdrawal and Refund PolicyCancellation by ARCHIVOARCHIVO reserves the right to cancel the programme if the minimum enrolment of 10 participants is not reached.In the event of cancellation by ARCHIVO, all registered participants will receive a full refund of any programme fees paid. Participants will be notified no later than three weeks before the scheduled start of the programme.Withdrawal by ParticipantsRequests to withdraw from the programme must be submitted in writing.Participants who withdraw after the programme has commenced, or who fail to attend without prior notice, remain liable for the full programme fee. No refunds will be issued once the programme has started.
