BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Katharina Sand is a fashion researcher, curator, and educator focused on the role of technology in shaping fashion narratives and archives. She teaches at Parsons Paris (The New School) and has held professorships at SCAD, UQAM, AMD Akademie Mode & Design, and the University of Arts Linz. She is a graduate of Goldsmiths College and Université Paris 8, and holds a PhD from USI. In 2025, she was an invited speaker at Ars Electronica on the topic of Archiving the tangible and the intangible.


RESEARCH INTERESTS


Researcher, educator, and curator. Part of the faculty of Parsons Paris (The New School); held professorships at UQAM (Montréal), SCAD (Savannah), University of the Arts Linz, and AMD Akademie Mode & Design. As a curator, showcased artists and designers ranging from Hussein Chalayan to Iris van Herpen. Recent projects include the exhibition Textile Design Now, focusing on craft narratives and communities. In 2025, presented research on archives at Stockholm University and Ars Electronica (Linz).
