↘ BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Elisabeth Friedman is Associate Professor of Art History & Visual Culture at Illinois State University. Her research focuses on contemporary art in Palestine, addressing the relationships among historical photographs, new photographic technologies and contemporary theorizations of the archive. She was awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship for research in Palestine in 2017. She has published eight articles in international journals, a catalog essay, and two chapters in anthologies.
