We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the Internship Programme 2023

This programme offers great opportunities for networking and has significant potential for students and early-career professionals who want to specialise in photography and visual culture. This is an exciting opportunity that offers insight and experience, in which interns are able to engage in the editorial process of a scholarly publication and in the organisation of related events with artists and researchers, presented in the platform for an international audience.

The Internship Programme 2023 focuses on the theme "The Indigenous Gaze" and we are especially keen to hear from those engaged in fields related to lens-based image studies and visually-based research, such as photography; visual studies, art history, visual culture, etc., and encourage the submission of applications from candidates who have a special interested in this particular theme. The internship will be held remotely and applications are accepted regardless of nationality and geographical location. This collaboration does not include monetary compensation.

As part of the programme, selected applicants will join the Archivo Research Network 2023, where they will engage in a rich and stimulating environment together with an international group of artists, scholars, researchers, and curators. Interns will work closely with the editors of Archivo Papers Journal, collaborating in the editorial process of the publication. Additionally, the program includes regular meetings and seminars focused on different methodologies explored in the practice-based work developed at the platform. By observing and collaborating in the different phases and processes developed in Archivo Platform, interns will gain valuable work experience, assess different strategies and abilities in the field of visual culture, gain skills in integrating theory and practice, expand their knowledge in editorial work, build a strong network of contacts, and also develop productive work habits and positive attitudes necessary for good team work and professional success.
