Archivo Platform is pleased to present an editorial internship programme focused on photography and visual culture. Each year, three candidates will be selected to work with Archivo's editorial team, being involved with a larger network of international researchers, and benefiting from the expertise of professionals in the field of visual culture.​ 


The editorial internship programme will be held remotely and is open to Master degree and PhD students, as well as academic and independent researchers, regardless of age or nationality. However, we do stress that all internships are unpaid and that we will give preference to students currently engaged in  academic programs.


Experience and interest in photography, documentary, or visual arts/culture is strongly encouraged. 

The official language of this internship programme is English and interns are required to commit 16 hours a week (2 days) for a period of four months.

All potential candidates must:

  • be responsible and committed to the internship programme;

  • have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively;

  • have strong and confident written and verbal skills.

Editorial interns are expected to:

  • be involved with larger research projects and editorial brainstorming sessions;

  • manage the visual work features and artist interviews in the platform;

  • assist with visual research, proofreading;

  • be available for weekly meetings.

Internship periods are:

  • January - April 2021

  • May - August 2021

  • September - December 2021



Archivo Platform will shortlist the applications and the recipients will be selected for interview based on their background, as well as their commitment and ability to perform the programme's objectives. 

Selected candidates will be informed of the results in due course and, after being contacted, must respond within 10 days. Having responded positively to their nomination, the recipients will be publicly announced in Archivo Platform and social media.​ 


The selection made by Archivo is final. Archivo Platform reserves the right to suspend the internship programme in case no applications reach the expected standards.
