Research Interests

Oscillating between the factual and the fictional, her work mainly explores the connections among beliefs and the image. Her research points to question the role of Western gaze in the production of evidence and proofs of idealistic scenarios of civilization. She is interested in the investigation of digital archives and virtual collections, as well as, in the deconstruction and the re-enactment of found narratives. Her artistic practice bases on the combined use of staged photography with archival footage, written documents, books, found objects, installation and moving image. Overlaying territories, times, and histories her body of work aims to produce a new stock of material evidence resistant to classification, besides, through her projects and research, she intends to challenge the effectiveness of human temporal registers offering plausible scenarios amid truth and imagination.
