Līga Goldberga is an archivist and photography researcher based at the National Library of Latvia’s Art Collection. As a PhD student at the Art Academy of Latvia, she explores archiving as a practice-led research method. She is the author of the reproduction album Topographies of Memories. As part of her PhD studies, she is currently developing a collaborative book, Biography of an Archive, focusing on the legacy of Latvian artist Zenta Dzividzinska (1944–2011).
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Līga’s research explores the materiality of photographic archives, women’s artistic legacies, and the agency of archival matter. In her role at the National Library, she manages art collections while integrating practice-led approaches into her work. Additionally, she teaches writing to art students. Her professional focus remains on how archives live, evolve, and tell stories through their physical and historical contexts.
