BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Andrés Pachón is a Spanish artist and researcher in Social and Cultural Anthropology.

He developed his work through collaborations with institutions such as the Museé du Quai Branly in Paris, National Museum of Anthropology in Madrid and the Photographic Archive of Art Museum of Lima (MALI) in Peru. Since 2010 his work has been exhibited in several international galleries and art places such as Museo Nacional de Antropología in Madrid (Spain), Museu Nacional de Etnologia in Lisboa (Portugal), MUSAC in Leon (Spain), La Nau in Valencia (Spain), or Gaîté Lyrique in Paris (France). He has received various awards and grants, such as Leonardo Grant BBVA Foundation to Researches and Cultural Creators in 2019, Comunidad de Madrid Visual Art Grant in 2017, Transvisiones 2015 (developing a residency at the Limas' Center of Image in Peru), or ARCO/BEEP Electronic Art Award in ARCOmadrid 2014.


His works are in severals international collections, like as Museo Reina Sofía Collection, Pilar Citoler Collection, Jozami Collection, CA2M Art Center Collection, MEIAC Museum Collection or BEEP Electronic Art Collection. Some of his projects have been published in several magazines and books of interest, as the number 78 of photo magazine "EXIT" (2020), the number P of the art magazine "MATADOR" (La Fábrica, 2014), or the book "Contemporary Spanish Art. 1992-2013" (La Fábrica, 2013).
